About Shorenet
Built because anything online can now be faked.
Shorenet Ltd is a UK evidence technology company. We build software that captures what a website actually sent, witnessed on its way, so that anyone can check it later without having to take the collector’s word for it.

Why Shorenet exists
Generative AI made convincing fakes cheap almost overnight. A screenshot of a post, a message or a web page can now be produced in a minute, and genuine ones are increasingly dismissed as fakes simply because they could be.
Almost every way of preserving online evidence still rests on a picture of a screen, or on a record written by whoever did the capturing. Shorenet was started to fix that: to capture what the website itself sent, in a form the other side can check rather than argue about.
Who we are
Shorenet was founded by Dr Anthony Rose-Edwards, who holds a doctorate in physics. Before Shorenet, Anthony worked in cloud architecture, designing and building systems on AWS, and turned to the problem of proving what was online as generative AI made faking it easy.
How we work
- We state the limits first. Our pages say what Shorenet does not prove, including that we operate the relay, and the reasoning is published in full in Shorenet Research.
- Evidence should not depend on us. A capture is built to be checked by anyone, with no Shorenet server, account or cooperation.
- We would rather be tested than trusted. Each evaluation will be built around your own examiners trying to break the method before it reaches a courtroom.
- UK patent applications pending. The method is the subject of UK patent applications.
